Every block on the Hanger Hill Garden Estate has a flat roof at the back. And flat roofs are good for solar. That's where we started! Could it be possible? We met with a local expert who had helped with Ealing's solar schools project and he said yes, it could be. We got up on the roof (carefully) and had a closer look. We checked the meters and the cabling. Yup, still good. So how to move forward?
The project, known as HHGEsolar, is dedicated to installing solar panels throughout the estate. By utilizing renewable energy sources, the community aims to reduce their carbon footprint and pave the way for a more sustainable future. Not only will this initiative help to combat climate change, but it will also lower energy costs for residents in the long run.
One of the key objectives of HHGEsolar is to provide a central platform for communication and updates regarding the project. The newly launched website will serve as a hub of information, allowing residents to stay informed about the progress of the solar panel installations and upcoming events related to the initiative. Additionally, the website will offer a space for community members
